If you would like to gain a better insight into property prices in the UK, then mihomes.co.uk are providing a great analysis.
There are two main aspects to the site; to obtain detailed analytics on sold prices for a specific town/city, and to simply look at sold prices in a specific (down to the postcode level) location.
Town/City analysis
Searching for a town or city shows us the high-level average price and number of sales. In the above example we can see that over the last 12 months (note that the land registry Price Paid data is often delayed, therefore the most recent sold prices are probably 1 month ago) there were 10,836 sales registered in Manchester, with a mean average sold price of £200k and a median average of £229k.
The site also breaks down sold prices by property type e.g. Detached house versus Semi-detached/Terraced or Apartment, as well as the locality within the town or city.
